So last year in April I was diagnosed with Relapsing and Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. Bit of a shock 🙁 I literally woke up on the 3rd February with temporary paralysis from the neck down and unable to get out of bed, unable to do anything basically.

From then on it was a year of “on and off” IV treatment in hospital, 10000 different tablets a day and different therapies on the NHS and Private to help me try and lead somewhat of a normal life. Add to that my little angel Summer Rose being born in June, Event Season starting, trying to deal with someone stealing my artwork and then trying to hold down a full time job, I had a pretty hard time to be honest.

.

My main issues seem to impact my right side, in particular my right hand and right leg. Luckily I am left handed as this has meant I have been able to continue illustrating. Not so lucky with my walking though as I am rather unsteady at times.

So why am I doing a blog you ask?

This year I am hoping to raise money for the Kent MS Therapy Centre. I joined their charity organisation at the end of last year and I am about to start having range of treatments that they offer such as Oxygen Therapy, Hydrotherapy and even Counselling. I will have a collection pot with me at each of my events this year and that money will contribute to keeping this amazing organisation going. I want to do this as they are keeping me afloat. Giving me the opportunity to have as normal a life as I can. Unfortunately the only way is down for me. That’s the nature of the disease. I am not the same as I was when you all last saw me. I am slower at getting places, I am not as quick to interpret what you are telling me and above that, I am in constant pain as this is what MS does to me. Oh, and a little bit fatter.

As you can see, I am still drawing. I have not let MS stop me from doing the thing I love. Drawing peoples cars for them, making new posters for my site and getting set for the next year of motor shows. I am trying new styles and hoping to appeal to a wider audience. When you see me at the shows, anything you can donate to help…well…people like me, will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading my little blog. I know it is a bit of a random one.

I look forward to seeing you later this year. 🙂
