This was drawn by popular demand. Herbie aka The Love Bug is an iconic Beetle so it made sense. I have drawn a number of Beetles over the years and so, this was very familiar ground.

Was quite interesting reading facts about the films when I was researching what I was going to draw. Out of the 6 films, my favourite movie poster was Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo as the artwork was impressive.

Landscape in orientation, I spent about 13 hours on this drawing. My Ai image of it on the wall is as good a representation as I could get with that thick white border.

This was drawn in 2024 in my “Half Car” style after the popularity of some of my others in this style. I picked green and 1979 as this the year my sister was born and her favourite colour.

In 1967 Volkswagen made in my opinion the best of the bunch with it’s powerful 1500cc 54bhp engine, streamline bodywork and signature wheel arches. I could never understand why they only had one wing mirror. Regardless, it was still a beauty.

I drew this Bug in the colours I would have it in if I could get my hands on one. The roof rack was added for practicality and style, and this particular one had a few optional extras including the spotlights at the front. This was a reliable car for it’s time and it was clear the designers put effort into it’s design.

I can imagine that if you were to own one of these, you would feel like you have travelled back in time.

This took me approximately 11 hours to draw.
